Getting it Up

Further to my previous I have been doing some post purchase internet research on Tipis:

Look like Germans installing the beer cooler

Outoor "Tipi Compact" Tent:
The "Tipi" - named after the Native American Indian tents (meaning "they dwell" = literal translation from the language of the Lakota, a Sioux indian tribe) - is very common in Europe today, especially in Scandinavia. It is chiefly characterised by its enormous height and is very spacious by design. The laborious and time-consuming process of pitching this tent using lots of poles is thankfully a thing of the past. The single central pole facilitates straightforward, speedy pitching, which one person can manage alone.
The central pole is erected, the guy ropes are fixed with pegs and that's it!
With this tent, which boasts Outdoor typical high quality, you and your crew will be sitting comfortably round the campfire long before the others are finished pitching their tents in the dusk.
Features and specification:
  • High-quality single-skin tent
  • Space for up to 6 people
  • Guy ropes and sewn-on loops ensure stability even in windy weather
  • Quick and easy to pitch by yourself
  • Always a comfortable climate thanks to peripheral and roof ventilation
  • Max. standing height: 2,50 m
  • Diameter at base: 4 m
  • Pack size: (WxHxD) 74 cm x 24 cm x 24 cm
  • Weight: approx. 9.5 kg
  • Hydrostatic head rating: 1,500 mm/cm²
  • Material: outer tent 100% polyester, tent floor polyethylene (waterproof)
  • Colour: olive/black

  1. Well, it could have been a wine cooler as well…

You say the tent is single skin. What about a mosquito barrier?

    1. Good idea but more worried about keeping water ot (eg UK horizontal rain) and making sure that the wine cooler does not over heat.

  2. Love the height but have to say it packs a little long ... my little tent ( can't stand up in it) packs just 48 cm long and has two layers in less than 9.5 kg.

    1. Thanks but unfortunately the picture was stolen from the internet. Anyway I was advised in my reference work "Carry on Camping" that getting it up is easy but keeping it there is the difficulty.

  4. Nikos:

as Trobairitz so aptly indicated I was drawn to your title and so glad that you managed to Get it Up, without outside help. Of course packed down your Package is larger than most, but then size matters when you want comfort and the extra room
