Meet Tubby

And I'm looking forward to a completely new three cylinder world of Flyingbricks, K-bike world and other excellence in motion including the possibility of fitting a radio and a reading light.  Inspired from childhood by the monumental writings of Jack Riepe over in PA USA, I have tickled my overdraft facility and ensured the continued survival of local BMW Repair shops.

P.S. I believe that Muttley is not included in the purchase price.

  1. The makes you Dick Dastardly, and we look forward to a regular spectacle of comic cartoon capers.

  2. I really rather like these 'Bricks' - I once saw one hillclimbing to geat effect at Dalby Forest - but as you know, went for the triple charm of a Trumpet instead. And as I get older, the value of cruising at *ahem* behind a good screen becomes ever more apparent!
Hope it's as good as it looks.

  3. I've seen one shifting at pace round Cadwell Park..shame the dog isn't included, we could have started a canine section of the BMW Owners Group...

  5. Dear All,
Yes there will be comic cartoon capers as it's bound not to be as good as it looks as this example has probably been "cruising" around Cadwell Park just as my GS had taken part in the DAKAR . And Bob, I'll need to buy some different colour crocs(tm)to differentiate my step change of pace...

  6. Dear Nikos:

Is that your dog tioed to the bike? If so, fine. If not, take off at about 90 miles per hour. Congratulations on your most recent acquisition. You new purchase has now been made the subject of an addemdum of my latest blog -- Twisted Roads. The acquisition of this machine now entitles you to be a regular focus of my work.

Once again, congratulations on acquiring the most superior of motorcycles. While parts for these machines are distributed through the more discerning jewelry stores, you don't have to buy them often.

What happened to the right mirror? That will be a bitch and half to replace -- and paint. Didn't think I noticed, eh?

Come see how I targeted you the first time.

  7. Jack

Welcome to my blog and thank you for taking the time to comment about my mirror and paintwork!

I'm flattered to be the target of your addendum too - let's hope that all of us live up to expectations.

Best of all Bob now wants a K75 too....

    Kind wishes, N

  8. I think you missed Teasmade off your list of accessories...

  9. Dear Nikos:

Bob has always wanted a K75, but it would mean drinking the Kool Aid in public. He ranks about unreliable BMW final drive units every time I speak of the iconic machine's timeless style.

And still, I know, you know, and that German rider he follows around in a trance knows that he craves a BMW. It is accepting a limited membership in a secret club... He should just get it over with. Now what's the story with the right mirror? Between a replacement mirroe for that fairing (hahahahahahahahahahahaha) and the matching paint, what's $1800 between friends?

    Fondest regards,

  10. Dear Jack

Funny that you mention $1,800 - that's near enough what I paid for the bike but you will see the mirror in future posts.

I am getting worried about this confluence of crocs (tm)..

    Best wishes, N

  11. Nikos! Any news? Is it home? Have you started riding it? Any reports? I hadn't even noticed the mirror until Jack mentioned it. :)

Seeing more pictures of yours and Jack's K75 is making them just more intriguing!

  12. Hi Lori
Thanks for the message of enquiry.
He came home yesterday and I've started the repair and farkelisation programme already.
Engine feels like a gas turbine compared to the R1150GS!
Needs new rear tyre and the seat is going to be redone. The electric screen needs to be fixed.

    More soon!

    Best wishes, N
